Each year Dancing Princess Parties, along with our Sister Company - Dance Exploration, LLC - creates a Fairy Tale Summer Dance Camp complete with 15 hours of magic for our tiny princes and princesses to enjoy. Each day of camp contains three hours of games and activities designed around our daily princess. Rapunzel is one our favorite princesses. She's outspoken, silly, and has a lot of opportunities where our campers can help her with fun activities. Hide and Seek is a pretty popular game, whether you're playing to seek another person or hiding from someone, this age old classic is bound to be a hit. That's why we wanted to share with you one of our favorite takes of hide and seek...only Rapunzel style!
You will need to set up a "Clue Station" across your party. At our Fairy Tale Princess Dance Camps, we have several stations. Our first clue is wrapped in Rapunzel's Hair (We have a rapunzel decoration which we tape a long yellow streamer to, and tape the clue on the streamer). Another Station is our Bibbity Bobbity Boo-tique, which is our Prince and Princess Station. We have a lot of costumes and even a bench that we can hide a clue. We have our Princess Castle Station, this is a simple canvas that has a castle painted on it and can lean up against a wall. We have our Tea Party Station, where we keep all our tea pots, tea cups, plates and food for our daily camp. We also include multiple Princess Stations. Our Princess Stations are made up of Belle, Ariel, Tiana, Cinderella and Rapunzel. Each Princess Station also contains a clue.
To create our clues, we simply took small, yellow squared note cards and placed a sparkly butterfly sticker on the back. We wrote a clue for each station. Some example clues could be:
Tip: Have enough clues for each party guest at your party. Your birthday child should find the last clue, as it will lead them to the hidden treasure: Rapunzel's Crown!
Now that your game is set up, you're ready to play! Be sure that the crown is hidden out of sight, and that there are enough clues for each party guest before playing. The Party Host (you) always reads the first clue. Have a magic wand, or another royal device handy to gently tap the "Leader to the Crown" on the head. Read off the first clue. Then pick your first "Leader to the Crown." During Fairy Tale Dance Camps, we teach our princes and princesses how to Tip Toe Walk, to ensure no one is running or pushing or shoving. We follow the "Leader to the Crown" in a straight line and tip toe walk gracefully to the next clue. Continue until everyone has had a turn being the "Leader to the Crown!" The birthday child should find the last clue and lead everyone to Rapunzel's Hidden Crown!
